An Improved Surface Treatment Process of 304 Stainless Steel Based on Low-Temperature Chromizing and Ultrasonic Vibration Extrusion

چکیده

The ultrasonic vibration extrusion process is a widely used surface treatment of stainless steel, e.g., 304 to improve the quality and increase hardness wear resistance. However, for high-hardness traditional process, i.e., single does not fulfil its application requirements. To cope with this problem, paper proposes an improved method based on low-temperature chromizing obtain expected steel. Using orthogonal design multivariate regression, influence impact parameters integrity steel was studied in work. Finally, experimental results show that processed by proposed increased about 2.55 times compared roughness composite reduced average 60.8% unfinished surface. In addition, optimal combination obtained: spindle speed 240 rpm, feed 0.1 mm/r, static 40 μm, which can provide parameter support

Compressibility of 304 Stainless Steel Powder Metallurgy Materials Reinforced with 304 Short Stainless Steel Fibers

Powder metallurgy (P/M) technique is usually used for manufacturing porous metal materials. However, some P/M materials are limitedly used in engineering for their performance deficiency. A novel 304 stainless steel P/M material was produced by a solid-state sintering of 304 stainless steel powders and 304 short stainless steel fibers, which were alternately laid in layers according to mass rat...

Effect of nitriding temperature on the nanostructure and corrosion properties of Nickel coated 304 stainless steel

Nickel films of 150 nm thickness were deposited on 304 stainless steel and post annealed under flow of nitrogen at different temperatures. The prepared samples were corrosion tested in 1.0 M H2SO4 solution using potentiodynamic polarization technique. Crystallographic and morphological structure of the samples were analysed by X-ray diffraction XRD and atomic force microscopy AFM respectively b...

The effect of surface mechanical attrition treatment on low temperature plasma nitriding of an austenitic stainless steel

The combined effect of superficial nanocrystallisation by SMAT (Surface Mechanical Attrition Treatment) followed by plasma nitriding on the mechanical properties of a medical grade austenitic stainless steel was studied. SMAT conditions were optimised to enhance nitrogen diffusion. Experimental observations (energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy profiles, cross-sectional optical micrographs, pha...

Influence of ultrasonic vibration on micro-extrusion.

Micro-forming is a miniaturization technology with great potential for high productivity. Some technical challenges, however, need to be addressed before micro-forming becomes a commercially viable manufacturing process. These challenges include severe tribological conditions, difficulty in achieving desired tolerances, and short tool-life due to inability of available die materials to withstan...

Evolution of Microstructure and Residual Stress under Various Vibration Modes in 304 Stainless Steel Welds

Simultaneous vibration welding of 304 stainless steel was carried out with an eccentric circulating vibrator and a magnetic telescopic vibrator at subresonant (362 Hz and 59.3 Hz) and resonant (376 Hz and 60.9 Hz) frequencies. The experimental results indicate that the temperature gradient can be increased, accelerating nucleation and causing grain refinement during this process. During simulta...
